After Rothfuss Best Gabion had already integrated the large mesh welding machine type “EVG” into the machine park at the Wittlich site at the end of last year (Link), a further reinforcement is now taking place in the production halls. Since the beginning of June, the company has had a new “Darto” tensile testing machine at its disposal, which is to be used primarily in quality management.
The quality of the end product according to DIN ISO 9001 will benefit in particular. Manfred Kirbach, responsible for quality management at Rothfuss Best Gabion, on the new acquisition: “The new machine became necessary because we want to transfer the results of tensile tests on our wire in incoming goods and in grid production directly to quality management and store them there. In this way, we can guarantee the highest possible quality right from the start.
Tensile testing machines are special testing tools that can represent one-dimensional motion sequences in a force-displacement diagram or in a stress-strain diagram. The classic application is the so-called “tensile test”, in which, for example, a piece of wire is subjected to an increasing tensile load until it finally breaks. Depending on the wire thickness, forces of up to 50 KN (5.1 tons) can occur. The diagram created during this test then provides valuable information about the load-bearing capacity, elasticity and plastic deformation of the material sample.
Rothfuss Best Gabion is pleased to be able to raise the accustomed quality standards even further with the purchase of the new machine and to guarantee perfect monitoring of the product from incoming goods to dispatch.
