The year is drawing to a close and, as always just before Christmas, it’s time for us to say ‘thank you’:

In keeping with a cherished tradition, we would like to pass on a little of what we have achieved together over the past twelve months.
Our donation target this year is the hospice centre in our home town of Wittlich, which will open in summer 2024. People who are seriously ill and dying will receive hospice and palliative care there. There are also other outpatient and inpatient services for those affected and their relatives provided by cooperation partners in the region.
The inpatient hospice takes in seriously ill and dying people who cannot be cared for at home. For them, outpatient care is not possible due to necessary palliative medical and nursing measures as well as psychosocial problems.
The inpatient hospice for adults at Hospizhaus Wittlich offers 12 places in furnished single rooms. The communal living room has access to the terrace and garden. Fresh meals are prepared daily in the in-house kitchen. The ‘Room of Silence’ is a retreat with a sheltered outdoor area. Meetings, events and training courses take place in the multifunctional room. There are offices on the upper floor.
A multi-professional team of over 50 full-time and voluntary staff look after the well-being of the hospice guests and their relatives. The team includes management staff, nursing (specialist) and housekeeping staff as well as psychosocial support staff.
We would also like to do our part to support this important institution and are therefore donating €2,000 to the Wittlich hospice on behalf of the Friedhoff Group.
