“Standstill is regression” is a quote attributed to the German top manager Rudolf von Bennigsen-Foerder. According to this maxim, Rothfuss Best Gabion GmbH & Co. KG is also constantly developing. After moving into the newly built production site in Dr.-Oetker-Straße in Wittlich in 2015, another milestone has now been reached – following numerous advances in the workforce and machinery – with the expansion of the production halls at the Wittlich site.
A new state-of-the-art hall with a floor space of approx. 1,800 m² has been under construction on the company’s premises on the edge of the Wittlich valley for several weeks now. In the future, this hall will house both new social rooms for the employees and important expansions to Rothfuss Best Gabion’s already unique machinery.
For example, a new far-reaching cooperation agreement with the company Bekaert NV/SA (Zwevegem, Belgium), as the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality wire products, makes it possible, among other things, to take over a highly automated mesh welding system at the Wittlich plant, thus initiating another important step on the way to becoming a full-range supplier according to the principle of “everything from one source”.
After the building site was prepared in early summer for the construction of the new building, and the specialised companies involved subsequently took care of the formation of the foundations, steel and façade construction are currently working hand in hand on the erection of the hall. According to the schedule, the new building will be ready for occupancy by the end of the year, before the planned expansion of the machine park is implemented around the turn of the year.
The new building is being built by the general contractor “Seitz Stahlbau” in Herforst. The measure is being funded by the EU from the European Regional Development Fund (“ERDF”).
