Rothfuss Best Gabion is now also sailing in international waters. Our Spanish sales partner Diego de las Heras Ubieta from Muroxs is an enthusiastic and successful skipper in his spare time and proved this at the beginning of June at the regatta “Bahia de Pollenca” from Barcelona to Mallorca, where he took first place under the big black sail of Rothfuss Best Gabion with his sailing partner Jacobo Saenz de Buruaga.
But from the beginning: On May 31st at 4 p.m., the 29 boats of the 22nd “Bahia de Pollenca” regatta, which is part of the Catalan championship as well as of the Offshore Trophy of the Catalan Association, went from Port Ginesta (south of Barcelona, between Castelldefels and Sitges) on the 108 nautical miles (about 200 kilometres) long route to Port de Pollenca in the north of Mallorca. Part of it: The boat “Grop III” from de las Heras Ubieta and Saenz de Buruaga, a “Grand Soleil 40 S” with a length of 12 meters and a mast with two sails, used by the “Club Nautic Garraf”.
Thanks to a strong wind, the ships can already cover more distance than planned on the first day, which means that the top group will appear in front of the Mallorcan port on the second evening instead of the following morning. Right at the front: The “Grop III” with its striking sail branded in the colours and logos of Rothfuss Best Gabion, which, with its black background, somehow reminds of a pirate ship.
After two days on the Mediterranean, the “Grop III” finally wins the regatta on the Balearic island and also wins the parallel “Golf” Cup. A great success for Diego de las Heras Ubieta and a great opportunity for us to make the Rothfuss Best Gabion logo known in international sport as well.
